Municipal services

Bill everyone you actually collect from

Customer registry, routes, proof of collection and monthly billing for waste collection contractors.

What it does

Waste Collection Management

Waste collection businesses in Tanzanian cities fail commercially, not operationally. The trucks run. The problem is that nobody can prove a household was served, half the customers on the list have stopped paying without anyone noticing, and the collector holding the cash is the only record of who paid. Collection rates of well under half are common and almost always invisible.

  • Customer registry — households, businesses and institutions with GPS location
  • Service plans: frequency, bin count, waste type and tariff
  • Route building and assignment to trucks and crews
  • Driver and crew mobile app with the day's route
  • Proof of collection: GPS, timestamp and optional photo per stop
  • Missed and refused collection recording with reason
  • Truck tracking, trip logging and tonnage per trip
  • Landfill and transfer station disposal records and weighbridge tickets
  • Monthly billing generated from the service plan
  • Mobile money collection with automatic reconciliation to the customer
  • Field cash collection recorded per collector with daily banking control
  • Arrears ageing, reminders by SMS and suspension lists
  • Customer complaint logging and resolution tracking
  • Route profitability — revenue against fuel, labour and disposal cost

Tanzania

Waste contracting in Tanzania

  • Collection rate is the problem — The system's main job is closing the gap between customers served and customers paying. Arrears, suspension lists and payment tracking are treated as first-class features, not billing admin.
  • Mobile money and cash — Both are handled. Mobile money reconciles automatically; field cash is recorded against the named collector with daily banking control, which is where cash leakage otherwise happens.
  • Proof of service — GPS and timestamp per stop settles the common dispute where a customer refuses to pay claiming they were never served.
  • Municipal contracts — Where you hold a contract with a municipality or ward, tonnage, coverage and service-level reporting can be produced from the system for contract reporting.
  • Informal addressing — Tanzanian residential addressing is not reliable, so customers are located by GPS point rather than by street address, and routes are built from those points.

How we work

Scoped first, built in phases

We look at the process

Not a sales meeting. We sit with the people who do the work now and find where the time and money actually go.

You get a written scope

What will be built, what it costs, how long it takes, and what is explicitly out of scope. In writing, before anything starts.

Built in phases

The part that hurts most is delivered first and put into real use, so value arrives before the whole project is finished.

Trained and supported

Your staff are trained on the real system with real data, and support continues after go-live.

Registry and billing before routing. The fastest return is a complete customer registry with billing and arrears visibility. Route optimisation is worth doing after you know who is actually paying, because otherwise you are optimising the cost of unpaid work.

Frequently asked

Waste Collection Management — questions we get

How do we prove we collected from a customer?

The crew app records GPS position and timestamp at each stop, with an optional photo. That record is attached to the customer and is what resolves a disputed month.

Can customers pay by mobile money?

Yes, reconciled automatically to the customer account, with SMS confirmation. Cash collected in the field is recorded against the collector and reconciled at daily banking.

Does it work for commercial customers as well as households?

Yes. Service plans differ by frequency, bin count and waste type, and commercial customers can be invoiced with different terms.

Can we see which routes make money?

Yes. Revenue per route is compared against fuel, crew and disposal costs. Routes that lose money are usually a surprise to the operator.

Does the crew app need internet?

No. Routes download in advance and collections are captured offline, syncing when the truck returns to coverage.
