Software built for doing business in Tanzania

Compliance, operations and customer-contact systems for foreign-owned and local companies — designed around Tanzanian regulation, not adapted from software written for somewhere else.

Enterprise capability at prices that work for small and medium businesses. Every system is scoped, configured and built to your organisation's actual requirements.

AML, KYC and regulatory compliance software

Foreign-owned companies, banks, microfinance institutions, insurers, bureaux de change and dealers in Tanzania carry obligations under the Anti-Money Laundering Act, the Proceeds of Crime Act and their sector regulators. Manual registers and spreadsheets do not survive an inspection. These are the systems we build to close that gap.

AML

Anti-Money Laundering monitoring

Transaction monitoring rules, threshold and structuring alerts, suspicious transaction report preparation, case workflow with maker-checker approval, and a defensible audit trail for the Financial Intelligence Unit.

KYC

KYC and customer due diligence

Customer onboarding with identity capture, NIDA and TIN reference fields, document expiry tracking, risk scoring, enhanced due diligence for higher-risk customers, and periodic re-KYC scheduling so files never quietly go stale.

Screening

Sanctions and PEP screening

Name screening against sanctions and politically-exposed-person lists at onboarding and on a schedule, fuzzy matching for transliterated names, and reviewer sign-off on every hit so a false positive is recorded as a decision rather than an omission.

Ownership

Beneficial ownership register

Ownership structures captured to ultimate beneficial owner, percentage holdings, control chains through holding companies, and change history — ready for BRELA filing and for the questions banks ask when a foreign parent is involved.

Data

Data protection compliance

Consent capture, data subject request handling, retention schedules and processing records aligned to the Personal Data Protection Act 2022 — the obligation most foreign firms in Tanzania discover late.

Workforce

Work permit and expatriate tracking

Residence and work permit expiry monitoring, local-content and succession-plan evidence, document vaults per expatriate employee, and alerts well before a permit lapses.

Tax

Tax and revenue integration

Systems that produce the records TRA expects — EFD-compatible sales data, VAT schedules, withholding tax registers and audit-ready exports.

Reporting

Regulatory reporting automation

Scheduled returns assembled from live operational data instead of month-end spreadsheet archaeology, with submission history and sign-off retained for inspection.

How to read this page. PiCall is live software running in production today. The other frameworks are solutions we design and build for a client's specific requirements. We will tell you plainly which parts already exist and which will be developed for you, and what each will take — before you commit to anything.

How we work

You should not have to gamble a year's budget to find out whether software fits your business. We structure work so the first commitment is small and the value is visible early.

Discovery

We sit with the people who do the work, map the current process and write down exactly what the system must do and which regulations apply.

Scoped proposal

A written scope with fixed phases and prices. You see what exists already, what will be built, and what each phase costs before committing.

Build and configure

We start with the phase that removes the most pain. You use it while the rest is built, rather than waiting for a big launch.

Deploy and support

On your servers or hosted, with training for your staff and a support agreement. Systems are built to keep working when connectivity does not.

Indicative pricing. Every quote is written against your actual scope.

Frequently asked questions

Do foreign-owned companies in Tanzania need AML and KYC software?

If you are a bank, microfinance institution, insurer, bureau de change, dealer in precious metals or stones, real estate agent, or a professional firm covered by the Anti-Money Laundering Act, you carry customer due diligence, record-keeping and reporting obligations. Software is not itself a legal requirement, but demonstrating consistent due diligence and producing records on demand is — and that is very difficult to do from spreadsheets once you pass a few hundred customers.

Are these systems already built, or built for us?

PiCall, our contact centre platform, is live and running in production. The other named solutions are frameworks we design and develop against your requirements. We reuse a large amount of existing work — authentication, roles, workflow, alerting, reporting, offline sync — which is why a custom system does not cost what building from zero would. We will always tell you which is which before you pay anything.

Can the software work when our internet is unreliable?

Yes, and we design for it deliberately. Systems can run on a server at your premises so they keep working during an outage, with data syncing when the connection returns. Our contact centre platform runs entirely on site for this reason — calls do not stop because an ISP does.

How long does a project take?

A pilot or prototype is typically two to three weeks. A departmental system is usually eight to sixteen weeks depending on scope and how quickly we can get answers from your team. We deliver in phases so you are using something useful long before the final phase lands.

Do you work outside Dar es Salaam?

Yes. We work with clients across Tanzania including Arusha, Mwanza, Dodoma, Mbeya and Zanzibar, and we travel to site for discovery and training. Much of the ongoing work is done remotely.

Who owns the software and the data?

Your data is always yours. Ownership and licensing of the software is set out in the proposal — for bespoke builds this is normally a licence to your organisation, and we are happy to discuss source code arrangements for larger engagements.

Tell us what your business actually needs

Describe the problem in plain language — the process that keeps breaking, the report nobody can produce, the regulator's question you cannot answer quickly. We will tell you whether software is the right answer, and what it would take.
