Networks that stay up

Design, installation, configuration and troubleshooting of enterprise and carrier networks across Tanzania.

What it does

Network Installation & Configuration

A network is only noticed when it fails, and in Tanzania it usually fails for reasons that have nothing to do with the switch: a badly terminated patch panel, an earth that was never bonded, a surge that took out the uplink port during the rains, a fibre splice done in a hurry. We build them to survive those conditions, and we come out when they do not.

  • Site survey, network design and IP addressing plan
  • Structured cabling to TIA/EIA standards — Cat6, Cat6A, fibre backbone
  • Fibre installation, splicing, termination and OTDR testing
  • Certified copper testing with printed results per outlet
  • Router and switch configuration: VLANs, routing, spanning tree, link aggregation
  • BGP, OSPF and MPLS for multi-site and carrier networks
  • Firewall deployment, policy design, VPN and remote access
  • Enterprise wireless: site survey, controller, roaming and guest access
  • Data centre and comms room build — racks, power, earthing, cable management
  • Redundant links and automatic failover between providers
  • Network monitoring with alerting before users notice
  • Documentation: as-built diagrams, port maps and configuration backups
  • Troubleshooting and 24/7 support contracts

Equipment we install and support

  • Routing and switching — Cisco (Catalyst, Nexus, ISR, ASR), Juniper (EX, MX, SRX), Huawei, HPE Aruba, MikroTik, Ubiquiti and TP-Link Omada.
  • Optical and transport — Ciena, Huawei OptiX, Nokia and ZTE DWDM and metro Ethernet, for carrier and long-haul links.
  • Firewalls and security — Fortinet FortiGate, Cisco ASA and Firepower, Palo Alto, Sophos and pfSense.
  • Wireless — Cisco Meraki, Aruba Instant, Ruckus, Ubiquiti UniFi, with proper site survey rather than guesswork.
  • Tanzanian conditions — surge and lightning protection, proper earthing, UPS and generator changeover, and dual-provider failover across TTCL, Vodacom, Airtel, Liquid and SimbaNET.

How we work

Scoped first, built in phases

We look at the process

Not a sales meeting. We sit with the people who do the work now and find where the time and money actually go.

You get a written scope

What will be built, what it costs, how long it takes, and what is explicitly out of scope. In writing, before anything starts.

Built in phases

The part that hurts most is delivered first and put into real use, so value arrives before the whole project is finished.

Trained and supported

Your staff are trained on the real system with real data, and support continues after go-live.

Runs on your own server if you want it to. Internet in Tanzania is not guaranteed. Systems can be installed on a machine at your premises so the business keeps working during an outage, syncing when the connection returns.

Frequently asked

Network Installation & Configuration — questions we get

Do you work with equipment we already own?

Yes. Most jobs we take on involve a mix of what is already installed and what needs adding. We will tell you plainly if something in place is at end of life or is the actual cause of the problem you are living with.

Can you troubleshoot a network you did not install?

Yes, and it is a large part of what we do. The first visit is usually mapping what is actually there, because the documentation rarely matches reality.

Do you do fibre splicing and testing?

Yes — installation, splicing, termination and OTDR testing, with printed test results handed over as part of the job.

Can you set up failover between two internet providers?

Yes, with automatic failover so a fibre cut on one provider moves traffic to the other without anyone intervening. This is one of the highest-value changes for most Tanzanian offices.

Do you offer support contracts?

Yes, from business hours through to 24/7 with a defined response time. We also do monitoring, so we often know a link is down before the client calls.
