Gates that open every time

Supply, installation, automation and repair of sliding gates, swing gates, booms and garage doors.

What it does

Automatic Gates & Motors

A gate motor fails for boring reasons: the gate was too heavy for the motor someone sold you, the track was never level, the battery has not held charge for a year, or a lightning strike took the control board because nothing was surge-protected. Automation is the easy part. Getting a gate to still work in its fourth year is about what was specified on day one.

  • Gate weight and length assessed before a motor is quoted
  • Sliding gate motors, swing arm motors and underground operators
  • Boom barriers for yards, car parks and staff entrances
  • Garage and roller shutter door automation
  • Track, rack and levelling work where the existing gate will not run true
  • Battery backup so the gate opens during a power cut
  • Remote controls, keypads and card readers
  • Intercom and video intercom to the gate, including to phones
  • Safety beams and obstruction sensing so the gate cannot close on a vehicle or a person
  • Free-exit loops and vehicle detection
  • Integration with access control, boom and CCTV at the same entrance
  • Surge and lightning protection on the controller
  • Repairs and board replacement on existing installations of any brand
  • Service contracts — greasing, alignment, battery and safety-beam testing

Tanzania

Equipment, power and the site itself

  • Brands we install and support — Centurion, Came, BFT, Nice and FAAC, with parts availability in Dar es Salaam considered when we recommend one — a cheaper motor nobody stocks boards for is not cheaper.
  • Power cuts — Every installation we quote includes backup battery capacity, because a gate that traps vehicles inside a compound during a TANESCO outage is worse than a manual gate.
  • Ground conditions — Sliding gates fail where the track was laid on ground that moves in the rains. We level and, where needed, re-lay the track rather than bolting a motor to a gate that already binds.
  • Lightning — Controllers are surge-protected and properly earthed. A burnt control board after a storm is the single most common gate repair we are called to.
  • Safety — Safety beams and obstruction detection are fitted as standard, not as an upsell. An automated gate with no obstruction sensing is a liability on a site with staff or children.

How we work

Scoped first, built in phases

We look at the process

Not a sales meeting. We sit with the people who do the work now and find where the time and money actually go.

You get a written scope

What will be built, what it costs, how long it takes, and what is explicitly out of scope. In writing, before anything starts.

Built in phases

The part that hurts most is delivered first and put into real use, so value arrives before the whole project is finished.

Trained and supported

Your staff are trained on the real system with real data, and support continues after go-live.

We repair other people's installations. If your gate motor has stopped, we will diagnose and quote the repair rather than automatically pushing a full replacement. Often it is a board, a battery or a beam.

Frequently asked

Automatic Gates & Motors — questions we get

Will the gate open when the power is out?

Yes, if backup is fitted. We size the battery to the number of open-close cycles you need during an outage. Every gate also retains a manual release for a total failure.

What size motor does our gate need?

It depends on the gate's weight, length and how freely it currently runs — not on the width alone. We measure and test the gate by hand before quoting, because an undersized motor on a heavy gate is the most common cause of early failure.

Can we open the gate from our phones?

Yes. Depending on the controller we fit GSM modules or app-based control, and video intercom can ring to a phone so you can see and admit a visitor remotely.

Our gate motor burnt after a storm — is it repairable?

Often the control board alone is damaged and the motor itself is fine. We test both and quote accordingly, then add the surge protection that was missing.

Can you automate a gate we already have?

Usually yes, provided the gate is structurally sound and can be made to run true. If it cannot, we will tell you that before taking the job rather than fitting a motor that will fail.
