Books that agree with the bank

Accounting, invoicing and receivables software for Tanzanian companies and their finance teams.

What it does

Accounting & Invoicing

Most small and mid-sized Tanzanian companies do not have an accounting problem, they have a reconciliation problem: invoices raised in one place, receipts in another, VAT worked out at the end of the month from a pile of documents. Getting the entries right where they happen makes the return a printout rather than a project.

  • Sales invoicing with VAT, exemptions and zero-rated supplies
  • TRA fiscal receipt integration at the point of invoicing
  • Customer statements, ageing and receivables follow-up
  • Supplier invoices, payments and payables ageing
  • Withholding tax on purchases and on rent, computed and reported
  • Multi-currency with realised and unrealised exchange differences
  • Cash book, petty cash and bank reconciliation
  • Chart of accounts, journals and period close
  • Fixed asset register with depreciation
  • Departmental and project costing
  • Trial balance, income statement, balance sheet and cash flow

Tanzania

Tanzanian tax handled where it happens

  • VAT returns — output and input tax accumulated from live documents, so the return reconciles to the ledger.
  • TRA fiscal receipts — issued at invoicing rather than duplicated on a separate device.
  • Withholding tax — computed at the correct rate by supplier category, with certificates produced.
  • PAYE, NSSF, WCF and SDL — posted from payroll into the ledger without rekeying.
  • Multi-currency — dollar invoicing with shilling settlement, and the exchange difference recorded properly.

How we work

Scoped first, built in phases

We look at the process

Not a sales meeting. We sit with the people who do the work now and find where the time and money actually go.

You get a written scope

What will be built, what it costs, how long it takes, and what is explicitly out of scope. In writing, before anything starts.

Built in phases

The part that hurts most is delivered first and put into real use, so value arrives before the whole project is finished.

Trained and supported

Your staff are trained on the real system with real data, and support continues after go-live.

Runs on your own server if you want it to. Internet in Tanzania is not guaranteed. Systems can be installed on a machine at your premises so the business keeps working during an outage, syncing when the connection returns.

Frequently asked

Accounting & Invoicing — questions we get

Can it produce our VAT return?

It produces the figures and the supporting detail from live transactions. Filing remains yours, but the assembling and reconciling work largely disappears.

Does it work with the TRA fiscal system?

Yes, integrating with the approved fiscal device or virtual fiscal service registered to your business.

We invoice in dollars but get paid in shillings. Is that handled?

Yes, including the exchange difference on settlement, which is where manual books usually go wrong.

Can our external auditor get access?

Yes, with a read-only account limited to the periods they are auditing.
